Then you don’t need a writing coach!
The truth is that most of us, even professional writers, need some degree of support as we write, especially as we move into positions of more responsibility and impact.
If you’re a leader first and a writer second, you may need even more support to establish a professional voice and bring your ideas and ethos to life. The higher the stakes, the more important it is to have a solid support system and honest feedback.

Academic writing and the coaching support I provide is very similar for both military and civilians. However, my familiarity with military culture, language, and expectations sets Whisper Lake Writing apart.
The conventions of writing for a military audience can be very different than the conventions of writing for an academic or civilian professional audience. I can help you navigate these differences and transition smoothly between worlds if, for example, you’re an experienced military leader undertaking a broadening assignment at a civilian university. Or maybe you're a military leader moving from the field to the classroom as you continue your military education. Maybe you’re retiring from the military and moving into your next career. I understand these transitions and am here to help.

With coaching, you do the writing, and I offer personalized support via video call, email, and written feedback on your drafts. Coaching is a blend of teaching, mentoring, and editorial support.
With ghostwriting, you bring the ideas and I do the writing. Ghostwriting is a partnership with an agreed-upon product that you imagine and I produce. We communicate about your project throughout the process. You bring your expertise and I bring mine, and together we create something amazing.
With developmental editing, you already have an idea and a draft. I provide professional feedback on a complete project draft or a draft of a chapter or section.

No. It would be unethical for me to ghostwrite academic projects, including journal articles.
I offer ghostwriting for business books, thought leadership projects, and creative non-fiction projects.
If you are working on an academic project and need some support, please consider my coaching services.
